West Coast East
As Studio O+A approached it’s 25th year, we sought to expand our reach and engage with clients and fabricators at a global scale. Wanting to connect with local designers, test our hand at on the ground fabrication, and and dip our toe into international waters, we took part in Design Junction at the London Design Festival. Working within a myriad of constraints, we crafted a flexible pop-up that could be fabricated, finished, and tricked out in in the 72 hours before the event. Using plywood, casters, felt, and rapid rack, we created an inhabitable structure that was finished in wheat pasted construction documents from our recycle bin. A hand stippled super graphic inspired by classic english toile completed the detail of our West Coast East interpretation.
